keytosuccess.jpgI was just reading a fellow blogger’s article, Self Discipline: The fuel that powers the “Success Machine” and all I could think is we couldn’t read this enough times.

One of the biggest things that stood out with me is developing daily habits. We talk about doing things on a daily basis and even write the tasks down in our scheduler, but does it get done? And does it get done so often that it becomes an unconscious habit?

That is the question we should all be asking ourselves. I will be the first to admit I am just as guilty as the next gal/guy when it comes to letting things lapse because I get so caught up with so much multi-tasking that I forget about the details that are important.

People ask me all the time, “I did the tasks you said worked for you but nothing has happened yet, no leads are coming to my site, what am I doing wrong?”

My response is, “How often are you doing these tasks, how many hours are you putting into it, are you doing at least an hour each day?”

The answer I do receive is it’s usually done once. Because in the beginning something can seem like a task because you don’t know what you are doing or even if it will produce results. But when one of these tasks does work and it is second nature to you, what once seemed like a task may now be actually fun.

You see, these daily habits could be things like working on your mindset everyday or contacting/following up with at least a few people every day. You see, when you don’t do those tasks, they will become enormous and so overwhelming that you will just quit rather than tackle them. And who wants that to happen? The habits are just part of learning self discipline which will ultimately lead to your success.
